Breathe

Lee Hi is only 19 years old, and didn’t win Kpop Star 1. The talented runner-up signed in 2012 with the famous Korean entertainment company YG, home of artists such as PSY, AKMU or Big Bang. Four years later, I can’t stop humming her new ballad, written & composed, weirdly enough, by a (very talented indeed) famous boys band’s member.  And maybe because of these hard times… but I was really moved by the lyrics.

Take a deep breath, so that both of your chest aches,
Until it begins to hurt a little…
Breath out more, until it feels like there’s nothing left inside of you…

It’s okay if you’re out of breath, no one will blame you
It’s okay to make mistakes sometimes, because anyone can do so
To say it’s ok, even though it’s only words of comfort…

Someone’s breath. That heavy breath… how can I possibly understand
Your sigh, although I won’t be able to understand that depth, it’s okay

I will hold you…

It’s okay if you’re out of breath, no one will blame you
It’s okay to make mistakes sometimes, because anyone can do so
To say it’s ok, even though it’s only words of comfort…

Someone’s breath. That heavy breath… how can I possibly understand
Your sigh, although I won’t be able to understand that depth, it’s okay

I will hold you…

From other’s eyes, it might look like a breath that lets people down
But I know, that you spent a hard day to let out even a small sigh
Don’t think anything else now
Take a deep breath and breath it out

Someone’s breath. That heavy breath… how can I possibly understand
Your sigh, although I won’t be able to understand that depth, it’s okay

I will hold you… You did well…
